Ayurveda is a holistic approach to health and wellness. Ayurvedic preventative care is a practice that encourages each individual to honor the space we exist in relationship to everything else. We will lay out the foundational principles of the holistic approach Ayurveda, a practice that focuses on caring for the WHOLE person. Through this workshop, you will:
Gain insights into Ayurveda’s holistic model of care
Understand Ayurveda’s definition of health
Learn Ayurveda’s connection to Yoga, its sister science
Understand Ayurveda’s elemental theory and the doshas
Discussion will also include:
A brief history of ayurveda and its vedic origin
Panchamahabhootas (the five great elements)
Our interconnection with nature, and the importance of living in harmony with the changing cycles of nature
Doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) – discover your unique mind/body constitution
Basic diet and lifestyle concepts and guidelines to bring yourself back into balance
